Target Information

MSMB protein belongs to the immunoglobulin binding factor family and is synthesized by epithelial cells of the prostate gland, secreted into seminal plasma. It exhibits inhibin-like activity and may function as an autocrine or paracrine factor in uterine, breast, and other female reproductive tissues. Expression of MSMB is found to be decreased in prostate cancer. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms are known, with alternate polyadenylation sites identified for this gene.
