Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes the epitope EEEVE within the N-terminal part of ubiquitously expressed Hsp90 alpha and Hsp90 beta intracellular proteins, with calculated molecular weights of 84.7 kDa and 83.3 kDa, respectively. Under reducing SDS-PAGE conditions, they migrate as 90 kDa bands.
Target Information
HSP90 proteins are highly conserved molecular chaperones involved in signal transduction, protein folding, degradation, and morphologic evolution. They interact with cochaperones to fold newly synthesized proteins or refold denatured proteins after stress.
There are two major cytosolic forms: HSP90AA1 (inducible) and HSP90AB1 (constitutive), as well as mitochondrial variants (Chen et al., 2005).
