Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human GM-CSF. Anti-Human GM-CSF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hGM-CSF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human GM-CSF (500-P33) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hGM-CSF.

Western Blot:
To detect hGM-CSF by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for Recombinant hGM-CSF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine regulating production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active form exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space.
This gene is located in a cluster of related genes at chromosome region 5q31, associated with 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in the cluster include interleukins 4, 5, and 13.
It promotes tissue inflammation, and elevated cytokine levels have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
