Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MCP-2 (CCL8). Anti-Human MCP-2 (CCL8)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of hMCP-2 using sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human MCP-2 (500-P35) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hMCP-2.

Western Blot:
To detect hMCP-2 by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hMCP-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

This antimicrobial gene belongs to a cluster of chemokine genes on chromosome 17q. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC subfamily, characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues, includes this cytokine, which exhibits chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils, and eosinophils. By recruiting leukocytes to sites of inflammation, it may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and antiviral defense against HIV infection.
