Product Specific Information

Description:
The sym0F1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and mouse c-Maf, a 42 kDa basic leucine zipper transcription factor involved in neural, ocular, and hematopoietic systems. It is crucial for IL-4 expression in Th2 cells and plays roles in Th17 and Tfh cell differentiation, regulating IL-21, IL-23R, and CXCR5 expression.

Applications Reported:
This antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated mouse splenocytes using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product # 00-5523-00).
Recommended ≤ 0.5 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Light Sensitivity:
PE-Cyanine7 tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.

Fixation:
Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-57) for up to 3 days in the dark at 4°C with minimal impact on brightness.

Excitation/Emission:
488–561 nm / 775 nm
Laser Compatibility: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green Lasers


Target Information

c-Maf is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor, cellular counterpart of oncogenic v-maf. It regulates IL-4 in Th2 cells, crystalline genes in lens cells, insulin gene in islets, and p53/L7 through Maf recognition elements (MARE). It plays a role in Th2 differentiation, hematopoiesis, and IL-10 expression in macrophages. Chromosomal aberrations involving maf are found in multiple myeloma, and expression is observed in myeloma cell lines and resting monocytes/macrophages.
