Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and is vital for brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene are linked to tumors such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangements often create a fusion gene combining ALK and NPM, resulting in an oncogenic product. ALK encodes a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with transmembrane and extracellular domains, showing strong similarity to LTK. It plays an important role in neuronal development and function.
