Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform additional desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
PGP9.5 (Protein gene product 9.5, UCH-L1, PARK5) is a neuron-specific protein distinct from neuron-specific enolase, with a molecular weight of 27 kDa. It belongs to the ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase family (peptidase family C12) and exhibits both hydrolase and ligase activities, generating ubiquitin monomers by hydrolyzing small C-terminal adducts of ubiquitin.
PGP9.5 is found in neurons and nerve fibers throughout the central and peripheral nervous system, neuroendocrine cells, renal tubules, spermatogonia, Leydig cells, ova, and corpus luteum cells. Overexpression is associated with non-small cell lung cancer, while decreased expression is linked to Huntington and Alzheimer diseases.
It serves as a useful neuronal marker for studying neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson disease.
