Target Information
CA125 determinant is present on a high molecular weight, mucin-like glycoprotein. It is expressed in tissues derived from coelomic and mullerian epithelium such as pleura, pericardium, and peritoneum. In adults, it is found in epithelial cells of the fallopian tube, endometrium, endocervix, pancreas, colon, gall bladder, stomach, kidney, apocrine sweat gland, and mammary gland. It is also present in mesothelial cell linings and is a marker for ovarian tumors of serous, endometrioid, or clear cell types and mullerian-type adenocarcinomas.
