Target Information
CD18 integrin beta 2 subunit is a 90 kDa type I transmembrane protein expressed on all leukocytes. It forms heterodimers with CD11 molecules (CD11a–d), constituting β2 integrins such as LFA-1, Mac-1, CR3, and others. These integrins are essential for leukocyte adhesion, migration, and signaling. Deficiency or mutation of CD18 leads to leukocyte adhesion deficiency type I (LAD1) and related immune disorders. CD18 also serves as a receptor for Mannheimia haemolytica leukotoxin.
