Product Specific Information
MA1-06506 detects E-selectin in mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blotting, FACS, ICC, IF, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
The immunogen is LPS-activated mlEND1 cells expressing E-selectin at their cell surface.
Target Information
Leukocytes adhere to the blood vessel endothelium during extravasation in postcapillary venules of lymph nodes. This adhesion also occurs in capillaries and small venules following inflammation. The process involves a cascade of adhesion receptors, including selectins and immunoglobulin superfamily members.
E-selectin (CD62E) is an endothelial cell-specific selectin expressed only after activation by proinflammatory cytokines. IL-1, TNFα, and bacterial components such as lipopolysaccharides induce E-selectin transcription through an NFκB-dependent signaling cascade.
E-selectin is associated with blood vessel endothelium in diverse inflammatory conditions.
