Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD45R antigen (bovine), a single chain type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the protein tyrosine phosphatase family. CD45R is a restricted form of the CD45 family and serves as an essential regulator of T and B lymphocyte antigen receptor signaling. It is specifically expressed in hematopoietic cells.

Target Information

CD45R (PTPRC) is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates diverse cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. CD45 contains an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains. It is specifically expressed in hematopoietic cells and functions as a key regulator of T- and B-cell receptor signaling.

CD45 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple CD45 isoforms arise from alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. Expression patterns vary by cell type and physiological state. CD45 also promotes cell survival via integrin-mediated pathways and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. CD45RA, an isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. Diseases linked to CD45 dysfunction include Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (T-cell negative, B-cell negative) and Hepatitis C.
