Target Information
Caspase 3는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열에 속하는 단백질로, 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Caspase들은 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하며, proteolytic processing을 통해 활성형 효소로 전환됩니다. Caspase 3는 caspase 6, 7, 9를 활성화하며, caspase 8, 9, 10에 의해 처리됩니다. 또한 알츠하이머병에서 신경세포 사멸과 관련된 amyloid-beta 4A 전구체 단백질 절단에 관여합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 두 가지 전사 변이가 존재하나 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
