Product Specific Information
- Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge before opening. Reconstitute in water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex. Store at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For long-term storage, dilute in buffer with 0.1% BSA and aliquot at -20°C to -80°C.
- Storage: Stable at room temperature for 1 month. For long-term storage, keep at -20°C to -80°C, preferably desiccated. Working aliquots with carrier protein remain stable for ≥12 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
TGF beta-1 (TGFB1, Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1) is a cytokine member of the TGF-beta superfamily, found in most tissues. It regulates proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, and migration in various cell types. Stored in the extracellular matrix as a latent complex with its pro-domain, activation requires binding of αV integrin to an RGD sequence. Latent forms include complexes of TGF beta-1, TGF-LAP (latency-associated peptide), and LTBP (latent TGF-beta binding protein). The mature peptide can form homodimers or heterodimers with other TGF-beta family members. TGFB1 gene upregulation is common in tumor cells; mutations are associated with Camurati-Engelmann disease and cystic fibrosis.
