Product Specific Information

  • In sandwich ELISAs, less than 0.05% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse IL-33 is observed.
  • Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
  • Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).

Target Information

IL-33 (Interleukin-33) is a 270 amino acid protein belonging to the IL-1 family with an IL-1-like C-terminal domain.
It functions as both a proinflammatory cytokine and an intracellular nuclear factor with transcriptional regulatory properties.

  • Binds to IL1RL1/ST2 and activates NF-κB and MAP kinases.
  • Induces TH2 cytokines (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13) and causes mucosal inflammation.
  • Highly expressed in high endothelial venules of tonsils, Peyer’s patches, and mesenteric lymph nodes.
  • Often migrates higher than predicted molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
  • May co-localize with heterochromatin and act as a transcriptional repressor.
