Target Information
Laminin is a non-collagenous protein of basement membranes with a cross-like shape, consisting of one long arm (400 kD) and three short arms (200 kD). Antibodies to laminin localize exclusively in basement membranes, showing strong reactivity in the lamina lucida region adjacent to the cell membrane. Laminin binds to type IV collagen and plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and attachment both in vivo and in vitro.
