Specificity: This antibody binds to CD63 on monocytes and activated neutrophils.
Target Information
CD63 (LAMP-3, lysosome-associated membrane protein-3) is a glycoprotein of the tetraspanin family, found in late endosomes, lysosomes, and secretory vesicles. It is also present on the plasma membrane following cell activation and serves as a basophil activation marker. CD63 interacts with integrins, influencing phagocytosis and cell migration, and regulates H/K-ATPase trafficking and ROMK1 channels. Additionally, it functions as a T-cell costimulation molecule. CD63 expression can indicate carcinoma prognosis and is associated with melanoma and Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome.
