The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A, confining the holoenzyme to specific cellular locations. The AKAP9 gene encodes a member of this family, with isoforms localized to the centrosome and Golgi apparatus. AKAP9 interacts with multiple signaling proteins, including:
