Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with lemur, sheep, bat, rat, rabbit, pig, and primate based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Caveolin-1 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Caveolin-1 (CAV1) is a scaffolding protein within caveolar membranes. It interacts directly with G-protein alpha subunits and regulates their activity. Caveolin-1 is involved in co-stimulatory signaling essential for T-cell receptor (TCR)-mediated T-cell activation. It can bind with DPP4, inducing T-cell proliferation and NF-κB activation in a TCR/CD3-dependent manner. Mutations in the CAV1 gene are associated with congenital generalized lipodystrophy 3, pulmonary hypertension primary 3, and partial lipodystrophy/congenital cataracts with neurodegeneration syndrome.
