- PA1-886 detects DNA methyltransferase 1 associated protein (DMAP1) from human and mouse cells.
- Successfully used in Western blot and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures.
- Detects an ~52 kDa band corresponding to DMAP1 from HeLa cell nuclear extracts.
- Immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 435–450 from mouse DMAP1, conserved in human DMAP1.
- Immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-118) available for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
DNA methyltransferase 1-associated protein 1 (DMAP1) is involved in transcriptional repression or activation.
It interacts with DNA methyltransferase 1 during S phase and recruits histone deacetylase 2 for chromatin modification.
DMAP1 also enhances DAXX-mediated repression of glucocorticoid receptor-dependent transcription.
It is a component of the nucleosome acetyltransferase of H4 complex and interacts with transcriptional corepressor TSG101 and pro-apoptotic DAP6.
DMAP1 is conserved from yeast to humans, and the human gene is located on chromosome 1p34.
