Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling for 20 min at room temperature.
Target Information
B7-H4 (also known as B7x, VTCN1) is a co-stimulatory protein functioning as a negative regulator of T-cell mediated immunity. It delivers inhibitory signals to T-cells, preventing proliferation, cell cycle progression, and IL-2 production.
B7-H4 is expressed on activated T-cells, B-cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells. Aberrant expression is associated with lung, breast, and ovarian cancers.
Overexpression may suppress T-cell immunity and facilitate tumor progression. VTCN1 is a potential biomarker for early detection of ovarian cancer and renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
