Target Information
CDC7 (Cell Division Cycle 7 homolog) is a kinase essential for the G1/S transition and initiation of DNA replication during cell division. It is expressed in various normal tissues, but overexpression may be linked to neoplastic transformation in certain tumors and cell lines. The CDC7/DBF4 kinase complex promotes S phase progression by relieving inhibitory activity in Mcm4. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
