Product Specific Information
- In ELISA, less than 0.05% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CXCL16, rm6Ckine, recombinant human BLC, CTACK, IL-8, PF4, and Lymphotactin is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
CXCL16 is a member of the CXC chemokine family that signals through the CXCR6 receptor. It may play a role in attracting lymphocyte subsets during inflammation and facilitating immune responses. The chemokine domain contains six cysteine residues, including four highly conserved cysteines characteristic of CXC chemokines.
The CXCL16 gene encodes a 273 amino acid polypeptide, including:
- A 29 amino acid cytoplasmic domain
- A transmembrane sequence (~20 amino acids)
- An extracellular portion with a chemokine domain and an extended mucin-like stalk sequence
- The extracellular domain contains 89 amino acid residues (86 for the murine homolog)
