Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, mouse, porcine, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is colon carcinoma.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the claudin family, integral membrane proteins that are components of tight junction strands.
Tight junctions act as barriers regulating solute and water passage through paracellular spaces between epithelial or endothelial cells, maintaining cell polarity and signal transduction.
Differential expression of this gene has been observed in various malignancies, including breast, ovarian, hepatic, urinary, prostate, lung, head and neck, and thyroid cancers.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
