Target Information
The mammalian Phospholipase Cγ (PLCγ) family includes PLCγ1 and PLCγ2.
PLCγ isozymes contain core domains plus additional PH, SH2, and SH3 domains.
Upon activation by receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), PLCγ catalyzes hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP₂) to generate second messengers inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP₃) and diacylglycerol (DAG).
