Product Specific Information

The CBRIC2/2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human ICAM-2 (CD102). ICAM-2 is a 55–65 kD transmembrane glycoprotein with two extracellular Ig domains, a single transmembrane domain, and a short cytoplasmic domain (26 amino acids). It is expressed on most leukocytes and strongly on vascular endothelial cells.
ICAM-2 acts as a ligand for integrins CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1) and CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1), playing a role in lymphocyte homing to sites of inflammation. The CBRIC2/2 antibody has reported blocking activity.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and functional assays.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood cells at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Effective for immunoblotting of human peripheral blood cell lysate, detecting a ~55 kD protein under non-reducing conditions.
Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

ICAM-2 belongs to the intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) family. All ICAM proteins are type I transmembrane glycoproteins containing multiple immunoglobulin-like domains and binding to LFA-1. ICAM-2 contributes to lymphocyte recirculation, NK-cell mediated clearance, and immune surveillance.
