This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

This antibody has specificity for Human FDPS/Farnesyl Diphosphate Synthase.

Target Information

The isoprene biosynthetic pathway supplies the cell with cholesterol, ubiquinone, and various nonsterol metabolites. Farnesylpyrophosphate synthetase catalyzes the formation of geranyl and farnesylpyrophosphate from isopentenylpyrophosphate and dimethylallyl pyrophosphate.

FDPS activity and protein analysis in rat liver, along with immunofluorescence and immunoelectron microscopy, show that FDPS is predominantly localized in peroxisomes. Liver tissue from patients with peroxisomal deficiency diseases such as Zellweger syndrome and neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy exhibit diminished FDPS activity and reduced isoprenoid synthesis.
