Target Information
This gene encodes one of three natriuretic peptide receptors. Natriuretic peptides regulate blood volume and pressure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac function, and various metabolic and growth processes. NPR3 is responsible for clearing circulating and extracellular natriuretic peptides through receptor-mediated endocytosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
