Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Human ECM1.
Target Information
ECM1 (extracellular matrix protein 1) plays a crucial role in regulating extracellular matrix organization and cell adhesion. It is expressed in various tissues such as skin, lung, and liver, and is involved in disease progression including cancer and dermatological disorders.
The protein interacts with extracellular matrix proteins like collagen and fibronectin, regulating cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. ECM1 contributes to endochondral bone formation, angiogenesis, and tumor biology, maintaining skin integrity and homeostasis.
Mutations in ECM1 are associated with lipoid proteinosis disorder (Urbach-Wiethe disease), characterized by thickening of skin and mucosa. Different isoforms of ECM1 exist through alternative splicing.
Diseases associated with ECM1 include:
- Lipoid Proteinosis Of Urbach And Wiethe
- Lichen Sclerosus Et Atrophicus
