Target Information

E2F5 is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors, which are key regulators of the cell cycle and interact with tumor suppressor proteins.
E2F proteins contain conserved domains such as:

• DNA binding domain
• Dimerization domain (interacts with DP proteins)
• Transactivation domain enriched in acidic residues
• Tumor suppressor protein association domain

E2F5 is differentially phosphorylated and expressed in various human tissues. It shares higher identity with E2F4 than with other family members. Both E2F5 and E2F4 interact with tumor suppressors p130 and p107, but not with pRB. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
