Target Information

E2F5 is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors that regulate the cell cycle and interact with tumor suppressor proteins. The E2F family contains conserved domains, including:

• DNA binding domain
• Dimerization domain (interaction with DP proteins)
• Transactivation domain enriched in acidic amino acids
• Tumor suppressor protein association domain

E2F5 is differentially phosphorylated and expressed in various human tissues. It shares high sequence identity with E2F4 and interacts with tumor suppressor proteins p130 and p107, but not with pRB. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
