Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine EGF. Anti-Murine EGF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect mEGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine EGF (500-P174G) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant mEGF.
Western Blot:
To detect mEGF by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant mEGF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) binds to the EGF receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase. Activation of EGFR triggers diverse cellular pathways in response to environmental stimuli. EGFR forms homo- or heterodimers with other family members, each initiating distinct signaling pathways via SH2-containing effector proteins.
EGF is widely expressed in kidney, cerebrum, prostate, and salivary glands. It acts as a potent mitogenic factor, activating downstream signaling cascades including:
- RAS–RAF–MEK–ERK
- PI3K–AKT
- PLCγ–PKC
- STAT modules
EGF may also activate the NF-κB signaling cascade. Defects in the EGF gene are linked to hypomagnesemia type 4 and dysregulation has been associated with cancer progression.
