Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
RRAS2 is a small GTP-binding protein of the Ras superfamily of GTPases. It is associated with activating mutations and overexpression of classical Ras subfamily members (K-RAS, N-RAS, H-RAS), which are key events in cancer development.
The RRAS subfamily (RRAS1, RRAS2/TC21, RRAS3/M-Ras) shares 55–60% overall amino acid identity with classical Ras proteins. RRAS2 may transduce growth inhibitory signals across the cell membrane via effectors shared with Ras proteins.
RRAS2 has high oncogenic potential, and its overexpression or mutations have been reported in several tumor tissues and cell lines.
