Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Polycomb group (PcG) protein that specifically binds histone H3 trimethylated at Lys-36 (H3K36me3) and recruits the PRC2 complex. It acts by binding to H3K36me3, a transcriptional activation mark, and enhancing PRC2 H3K27me3 methylation activity.
Regulates transcriptional networks during embryonic stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. Promotes recruitment of PRC2 to the inactive X chromosome and target genes in ES cells. Required for repression of Hox genes via PRC2-mediated H3K27me3 methylation.
In certain conditions, may inhibit PRC2 activity by activating CDKN2A and promoting cellular senescence through local suppression of PRC2 catalytic activity. Also binds to the metal-regulating element (MRE) of the MT1A gene promoter.
