This antibody detects endogenous levels of Cytokeratin 17 only when phosphorylated at Ser44.
Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight from approximately 40 kDa to 68 kDa and have isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8.
Human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20, and their expression patterns are characteristic of specific epithelial types and differentiation states. Cytokeratin subtype expression is widely used to distinguish epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies are valuable for differential diagnosis of tumors using immunohistochemistry, and are also useful in cytopathology and flow cytometric assays.
