This antibody detects endogenous levels of total BRCC3.
Target Information
BRCC36 forms a holoenzyme complex with BRCA1, BRCA2, RAD51, and BRCC45, possessing ubiquitin E3 ligase activity. Aberrant levels of BRCC36 are found in sporadic breast tumors. Depletion of BRCC36 or BRCC45 increases sensitivity to ionizing radiation and causes G2/M checkpoint defects, indicating BRCC36 enhances cellular survival following DNA damage. It is essential for BRCA1 phosphorylation and nuclear foci formation after radiation, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target in radiation-resistant breast tumors. At least two isoforms of BRCC36 are known.
