This antibody detects endogenous levels of beta Catenin only when phosphorylated at Serine 37.


Target Information

Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein that plays a crucial role in cell-cell adhesion and signaling. It interacts with E-cadherin and alpha-catenin to link cell adhesion complexes to the actin cytoskeleton. Beyond structural roles, beta-catenin participates in signaling pathways such as Wnt/Wingless, influencing morphogenesis and cell proliferation. Aberrant beta-catenin activity is implicated in various cancers, including colorectal, ovarian, and breast cancer, as well as in tumor development. In the nucleus, it co-activates Lef/Tcf transcription factors to promote expression of genes like cyclin D and c-myc.
