Product Specific Information
This antibody is specific for the Notch1 (neurogenic locus notch homolog protein1, Motch A, mT14, p300) protein.
It gives a band of approximately 65 kDa on Western blot analysis using Notch1-IC OP transfected cells.
Western blot analysis using Jurkat cells shows the target band at approximately 110–120 kDa, with an additional band occasionally observed at around 220 kDa.
This antibody does not cross-react with Notch2, Notch3, or Notch4 as assessed by Western blot analysis.
Target Information
The Notch gene family encodes transmembrane proteins with epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeats in the extracellular region.
In mammals, four Notch genes have been identified: Notch1, Notch2, Notch3, and Notch4 (Int-3).
These genes are involved in the differentiation of the nervous system and other structures.
EGF-like proteins Delta and Serrate act as ligands of Notch1.
Mature Notch proteins are heterodimeric receptors derived from cleavage of Notch pre-proteins into an extracellular subunit (NEC) and a transmembrane subunit (Ntm) containing the intracellular region.
