Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45251 was sufficient for detection of HIF1 alpha in 20 µg of CoCl₂-induced HeLa cell lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 116 kDa. Specific for HIF1Alpha.

Target Information

HIF1-alpha (HIF1A) is a subunit of HIF1, a transcription factor found in mammalian cells under hypoxic conditions. HIF-1 is a heterodimer consisting of alpha and beta subunits, both part of the basic-helix-loop-helix PAS family of transcription factors. It regulates adaptive responses to hypoxia by activating transcription of over 40 genes, including erythropoietin, glucose transporters, glycolytic enzymes, and VEGF.

HIF1-alpha influences hypoxia-mediated apoptosis, cell proliferation, and tumor angiogenesis. It interacts with p53 and participates in p300/CBP-HIF complexes that regulate hypoxia-responsive genes. Hypoxia contributes to diseases such as ischemia, cancer, pulmonary hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
