Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx) is a peroxidase family associated with cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Mammalian Prx proteins (~50 isoforms) possess thiol-specific antioxidant activity and are classified based on cysteine residue type into typical 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, and 1-Cys Prx.
Among the mammalian members:
- Prx I, II, and VI are localized in the cytosol
- Prx III in mitochondria
- Prx IV in ER and secreted form
- Prx V shows complex distribution in peroxisomes, mitochondria, and cytosol
Mammalian Prxs have molecular weights of 20–30 kDa and exhibit thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase (TPx) activity (except Prx VI).
