Target Information
CD98 (4F2) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein serving as the heavy chain of heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HATs). It associates with light chains via disulfide bonds, mediating cell surface expression and basolateral localization in polarized epithelial cells. CD98 also interacts with β1 integrins, enhancing their ligand affinity. Beyond amino acid transport, CD98 is involved in cell fusion, activation, differentiation, growth, and apoptosis.
