Target Information
CD98 (4F2) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as the heavy chain of heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HATs).
It forms disulfide bonds with various light chains, enabling cell surface expression and basolateral localization in polarized epithelial cells.
CD98 also interacts with β1 integrins, enhancing their ligand affinity.
Beyond amino acid transport, CD98 is involved in cell fusion, activation, differentiation, growth, and apoptosis regulation.
