Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The CDKN2A gene generates several transcript variants with alternative first exons.
At least three alternatively spliced variants encode distinct proteins, including two isoforms that inhibit CDK4 kinase.
Another transcript encodes an alternate reading frame (ARF) protein that stabilizes tumor suppressor p53 by interacting with and sequestering MDM2, an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase responsible for p53 degradation.
Despite structural and functional differences, both CDK inhibitor isoforms and the ARF product share a common role in cell cycle G1 control through regulation of CDK4 and p53.
Mutations or deletions in this gene are frequently found in various tumors, underscoring its importance as a tumor suppressor gene.
