Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human SCF. Anti-Human SCF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human SCF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human SCF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human SCF (500-P48GBt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human SCF.

Western Blot:
To detect hSCF by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hSCF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Stem cell factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways. Binding of SCF by the c-Kit receptor leads to homodimerization of the receptor and activation of signaling pathways such as PI-3, PLC-gamma, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase pathways.

SCF expression induces mast cell survival and the release of histamine, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and chemokines. Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway decreases histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness, suggesting this pathway may be a potential therapeutic target in inflammatory diseases such as asthma. At least two isoforms of SCF are known to exist.
