Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat EGF. Anti-Rat EGF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated. - Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat EGF (500-P277) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat EGF. - Western Blot:
To detect Rat EGF by Western Blot, use at 0.5–1.0 µg/mL. Detection limit for Recombinant Rat EGF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions. - Packaging:

Target Information
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) binds to the EGF Receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase. Activation of EGFR initiates multiple signaling pathways in response to environmental stimuli or ligand binding. EGFR can form homo- or heterodimers, each triggering distinct signaling cascades via SH2-domain-containing effector proteins.
EGF is widely expressed in kidney, cerebrum, prostate, and salivary glands, acting as a potent mitogenic factor. It activates several downstream pathways such as RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, and STAT modules.
EGF may also influence NF-κB signaling. Defects in the EGF gene are linked to hypomagnesemia type 4, and dysregulation is associated with certain cancers.
