Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Advantages include:

  • Better specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulations
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

CD90 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein and a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. CD90 may play a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other brain events. It serves as a marker for various stem cells and axonal processes of mature neurons.

Structural studies of CD90 contributed to the foundation of the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the first biochemical characterization of a vertebrate GPI anchor. Diseases associated with CD90 dysfunction include nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
