Product Specific Information
Recombinant mouse monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Specific genes encoding the desired antibodies are cloned into expression vectors and expressed in vitro.
Advantages of recombinant antibodies include enhanced specificity and excellent lot-to-lot consistency.
It is recommended to titrate the antibody carefully for optimal performance in the chosen assay.
Target Information
MDM2 is a ubiquitin ligase for p53 and plays a central role in regulating p53 stability. Located on chromosome 12q, MDM2 phosphorylation by Akt at Ser166 and Ser186 enhances its interaction with p300, promoting p53 ubiquitination and degradation.
MDM2 also inhibits p53 transactivation and, when overexpressed, can inactivate p53, reducing its tumor suppressor function.
Beyond p53 regulation, MDM2 influences apoptosis, the cell cycle, and tumorigenesis through interactions with proteins such as retinoblastoma 1 and ribosomal protein L5.
Overexpression of MDM2 is observed in various human malignancies, including soft tissue carcinomas and breast cancer.
More than 40 alternatively spliced transcript variants of MDM2 have been identified in both tumor and normal tissues.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
