Target Information
The IRX gene family includes two groups: IRXA (Irx1, Irx2, Irx4) and IRXB (Irx3, Irx5, Irx6).
Irx1 and Irx2 are widely expressed during development, particularly in lung epithelium and ventricular septum, and play roles in digit formation (E11.5–E14.5).
Each Irx member shows distinct expression patterns during mouse heart development:
- Irx1, Irx2: Ventricular septum
- Irx3: Ventricular trabeculated myocardium
- Irx4: Linear heart tube and AV canal
