This antibody detects endogenous FOXK1 protein at molecular weights of 75 and 97 kDa.
Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
FOXK1 is a transcriptional regulator involved in multiple biological processes such as glucose metabolism, aerobic glycolysis, muscle cell differentiation, and autophagy. It recognizes and binds to the forkhead DNA sequence motif (5'-GTAAACA-3') and can act as both a transcription activator and repressor depending on context.
Together with FOXK2, it regulates metabolic reprogramming toward aerobic glycolysis, promoting glycolytic enzyme expression while suppressing mitochondrial pyruvate oxidation.
FOXK1 also plays roles in gluconeogenesis, mTORC1-mediated metabolic reprogramming, autophagy inhibition in skeletal muscle, myogenic progenitor cell regulation, and Wnt/β-catenin signaling.
Additionally, it contributes to antiviral responses by promoting interferon-stimulated gene expression.
