Target Information
Cell division cycle associated 2 (CDCA2, also known as Repo-Man) is a cell-cycle protein that recruits protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) to mitotic chromatin at anaphase onset, which is essential for cell proliferation.
Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of CDCA2 regulate its localization and interaction with PP1.
The CDCA2/PP1 complex is required for chromatin binding, histone H3 dephosphorylation, and nuclear envelope reformation during mitotic exit.
CDCA2 is also implicated in DNA repair and may contribute to cancer progression.
Elevated CDCA2 expression has been observed in various cancers, including melanoma, neuroblastoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and synovial sarcoma.
