Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

This gene encodes a protein involved in the presentation of the laminin-binding O-linked carbohydrate chain of alpha-dystroglycan (α-DG), which forms transmembrane linkages between the extracellular matrix and the exoskeleton. Some pathogens exploit this O-linked carbohydrate unit for host entry.
Loss-of-function compound heterozygous mutations in this gene have been identified in patients with Walker-Warburg syndrome (WWS). Mice lacking this gene exhibit misplaced neurons (heterotopia) in certain brain regions, possibly due to defects in neuronal migration. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
